What is user experience?

UX and interaction design are often used as terms for the discipline or the work of improving the experience and usability of a website, an app, or another technical solution. The goal is to enhance the user experience so that the end user is satisfied and feels they have had a positive experience using the solution. At the same time, the work is about enabling the end user to complete the desired actions the solution is designed for. Purpose, features, and design of the product or service are some of the aspects a UX designer works with.

How to work with user experience?

One of the most critical aspects of working with user experience is understanding how an independent end user perceives the product or solution. That’s why mapping and user testing are absolutely essential to successfully improving the user experience. The testing should be conducted as realistically as possible, so that the person testing the product uses it in a way that closely reflects real-life usage.

You use methods and tools such as heatmapping and eye-tracking to measure and log where the user looks and clicks. The advantage of these tools is that UX designers can run tests with many users and collect accurate data that is easy to compare. After analyzing the data, you make improvements to the products and test again to see whether the user experience has improved.
