CTR - What is it?
CTR is translated into Norwegian as Click-Through Rate. It is the share of people who have been exposed to your ad who actually click on it. By looking at the click-through rate, you can gain insight into how well the ad is performing. A high click-through rate means that many users clicked through to it, and that it is performing well. Here’s how to calculate CTR:
CTR (Click-Through Rate) = Number of clicks divided by the number of impressions of the ad / search result in organic search

The world’s most popular search engine is without a doubt Google. The first 3 to 5 results in this search engine are paid search before the organic results appear. The higher you rank, the higher average click-through rate you can expect. Below, I have included what a normal click-through rate looks like for the top three positions in organic search.
- Position: 20 to 40%
- Space: 10 to 20%
- Space: 5 to 10%
What factors influence click-through rate?
